Bulbocodium vernum

('productnameshort')

Bulbocodium vernum, now Colchicum bulbocodium, is an intriguing early spring-flowering bulb with elongated lavender-pink petals. Perfect for rock gardens.

Description:
Bulbocodium vernum has recently been reclassified as Colchicum bulbocodium, intriguing as it is a spring-flowering member of an otherwise fall-flowering genus. The flowers emerge before the foliage in early spring with elongated lavender-pink petals. It is perfect for rock gardens or other well-drained, sunny locations. Despite the word "saffron" in the common name, all parts of this bulb are poisonous and should not be confused with the fall-flowering, edible saffron crocus, Crocus sativus. Photo: Wikipedia.
