Description:
Opuntia humifusa 'Major' is an eastern prickly pear native to southeastern U.S. Grows up to 48 inches in height and spread with large, bluish, 6 inch pads and blunt, golden central spines. Yellow flowers with orange anthers emerge in mid spring followed by red fruit. One of the best Prickly Pear for partial shade. Awesome in the border and as a specimen plant. Easy to grow in well-drained, gritty soil.
