('productnameshort')

Brunsvigia josephinae is a large, spectacular species with open, Allium-like, spherical inflorescences 24 inches wide.

Description:
Brunsvigia josephinae, known as candelabra or Josephine's lily, is a large, spectacular species with open, Allium-like, spherical inflorescences 24 or more inches wide (the largest in the amaryllis family) on stems up to 26 inches high when it blooms in late summer with its trumpet-shaped coral red to scarlet flowers. The 8-20, succulent-like, 18-24 inch long, bluish green, upright and spreading leaves emerge through fall and winter into an impressive specimen. (The leaves do not grow flat on the ground like other species.) Keep on the dry side when dormant in summer perhaps watering only once a month. Bulbs can measure nine inches across said to be the largest bulb in the world. Plant with the neck protruding above the soil. This is a non-hardy bulb that can be grown as a houseplant or in a heated greenhouse or sunroom. It's perfect for those interested in bulbs and houseplants and for succulent lovers looking to branch out. Our nursery-grown bulbs are 5 years old as of 2022 and will reach blooming size at about 10-11 years old. Until then the foliage will be amazing.
