Lonicera caerulea 'Boreal Blizzard'

('productnameshort')

Lonicera caerulea 'Boreal Blizzard' is a haskap or honeyberry with delicious fruit 2-3 times larger than other cultivars!

Description:
Lonicera caerulea, known as haskap or honeyberry, is a super hardy zone 2 shrubby honeysuckle that produces tasty cylindrical blue fruits high in vitamin C that taste like a combination of blueberry and raspberry. The fruit can be eaten fresh or used for pies, jams, jellies, and other desserts. The Boreal Series was bred by Bob Bors at the University of Saskatchewan to bring together the best traits of Japanese, Russian, and Kurile lineages. 'Boreal Blizzard' has some of the largest of all honeyberries up to 2-3 times larger than other named varieties. It also has excellent flavour. Use it as a pollinator for 'Boreal Beast' and 'Boreal Beauty'. 'Indigo Gem', 'Tundra', and 'Honey Bee' also bloom at the same time and would make good pollinators. Haskaps need to be pollinated by a different clone, all of which will bear fruit. Fragrant, yellow, tubular, spring flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Deer resistant and excellent mildew resistance.
