Description:
Living stones (Lithops sp.) are one of those plants that captures the imagination inspiring gardeners and non-gardeners alike. These succulents from southern Africa look like a flat rock with a little slit down the middle. In summer or fall they can produce a multi-petaled, white or yellow flower. The top surface has translucent epidermal windows that allows light to penetrate into the photosynthetic tissue within each leaf. Unlike the photo, our pots will have one 1 inch wide plant surrounded by 3 smaller half inch wide plants. We will pot up to maximize the colour contrasts between plants.
