Echinops ritro ssp. ruthenicus 'Platinum Blue' is a stunning architectural perennial that offers deeply divided basal, thistle-like leaves off of silvery stems topped with dramatic lavender-blue spheres of starry flowers characteristic of this genus. Will pop in the mixed border with Phlox, Monarda and ornamental grasses for dramatic appeal. Also great in the rock garden and the vase. Huge bee attractor.
