Description:
From China's Mt. Omei, where it grows among rhododendrons and tiarellas, comes this lovely perennial impatiens. The new stems are bright red when they emerge from the ground eventually unfurling foliage in whorls that is dark, velvety green with a wide, whitish stripe down the centre. The yellow flowers occur in early fall though this is mainly a foliage plant. Impatiens omeiana is stoloniferous and, when happy, will make delightful patches in a moist spot in the woodland garden.
