Description:
Cyclamen coum or Persian violet is a delicate shady perennial with charming pink (sometimes white) flowers and beautiful, heart-shaped, dark green leaves that are often marbled with pale green or silver. It is summer dormant coming into leaf and bloom between late fall and early spring. Grow in light, well-drained soil in shade or part shade. Plant en masse for a superb woodland effect. From the Balkans, Turkey and Lebanon. Possibly hardy to zone 5 with good protection.
