Pteridophyllum racemosum

('productnameshort')

Pteridophyllum racemosum has delicate fern-like foliage and elegant spikes of pendulous white flowers for the shade garden. Looks like a fern but ain't a fern.

Description:
This is not a deer fern. It’s a poppy. Or a buttercup. They’re not sure yet. Pteridophyllum racemosum is a strange and rare woodland perennial endemic to the mountains of Japan. The evergreen foliage looks like a clumping fern until the 10 inch scapes of white flowers bloom in summer. Rock garden or trough plant for well-drained humus-rich soil in shade. Best in cool summer areas and shaded conditions.
