Davidia involucrata

('productnameshort')

Davidia involucrata is a must-have collector's item for woody plant enthusiasts with a floral display like no other tree.

Description:
The first time I saw Davidia involucrata in real life was in Vancouver's Stanley Park where a large, full-grown, jaw-dropping specimen was in full bloom with thousands of pendulous white bracts. As a teenager it looked to me like someone had "toilet papered" the entire tree with individual sheets! More eloquently it is known as dove, ghost or handkerchief tree. It is a singularly distinctive medium-sized tree with growing 20-40 feet tall and wide. Flowers are followed by attractive, round, golf ball-sized fruits that turn russet in fall. Fall foliage colour offers muted tones of purple, orange and red.
