Haworthia truncata 'Mammoth' is a rare cultivar with large, ridged leaves with green-black sides and speckled, translucent windows that sparkle in the light.
Description:
Haworthia truncata is a distinctive succulent from the Little Karoo region of South Africa's Western Cape province. The thick, deep green to grey-green leaves occur in a row with new leaves emerging in the middle and spreading outwards to the left or right. The tips are truncated and translucent acting as "light pipes" that allow light to enter into the leaves -- which are often half buried in sand in the wild -- for photosynthesis. 'Mammoth' is a rare cultivar with large, ridged leaves with green-black sides and speckled, translucent windows that sparkle in the light. Easy to grow. Tolerant of lower light than other succulents and cool temperatures but best kept above freezing.
