Description:
Musa acuminata 'Ice Cream' or 'Blue Java' is a tropical, fruit bearing, edible banana plant also prized as an ornamental. Flowers are large and cone shaped emerging from the centre of the tree. Their fuchsia bracts reveal white tubular flowers producing tasty bananas. Young plants have long, broad paddle-shaped leaves that emerge maroon or blotchy but then fade to green as they mature. Fruit, when mature, is said to 'melt in your mouth' like ice cream. Fast growing and low maintenance. Requires, moist well-drained soil with heat, sun and humidity. If kept indoors, the plant won't go dormant. Very pretty and fun to grow.
