Opuntia macrocentra 'Kunzleri' is a Purple Prickly Pear with yellow flowers and bluish pads with spines. Pads take on a pink tint in winter.

Opuntia macrocentra 'Kunzleri' is a long-spined, broad form of a very beautiful Purple Prickly Pear. It has broad, bluish pads that tint to pink in winter. Pads are at least 6 inches wide and are topped with dark 'eyelash' spines. Yellow ruffled flowers with orange centres emerge in mid to late spring. Growth habit is up to 12 inches in height by 18 inches in width. Awesome in planters and rock gardens. Easy to grow in well-drained, gritty soil.
