'Double Roman' was introduced before 1576! It is the double form of the Chinese sacred lily, Narcissus tazetta orientalis, and very fragrant.


Description:
'Double Roman' is a super heirloom introduced before 1576! It is the double form of the Chinese sacred lily, Narcissus tazetta orientalis, a close relative of the paperwhite and also very fragrant. It has reflexed white petals and a crazy double corona split and ruffled with white and rich yellow. The flowers are produced in clusters on each stem which can reach 14 inches high. Less hardy than other Narcissus, they bloom in winter and early spring. In cold climates grow in pots and protect in winter.
