Athyrium niponicum var. pictum 'Pewter Lace' is a deciduous Japanese Painted Fern with gray-green fronds, silvery hue accents and dark maroon midribs. Silvery fronds mellow to green as the season progresses. Best frond color is displayed in light shade. Grow in even moisture to encourage the most vigorous growth. Height and spread ranges from 12 to 18 inches. Ideal in woodland or shaded garden, by streams or ponds.
