Description:
Dahlia 'Avignon' is a dinner plate type cultivar with distinctive, very large, fully double flowers up to 8 inches wide. The petals are at first somewhat truncated later narrowing and becoming more ruffled. They are white and irregularly striped and splashed with lavender-purple to raspberry red. Awesome in the back of the border with tall 48 inch stems and as cut flowers. Dahlia are hardy to the winter temperatures of coastal BC but not to the winter wet. Grow outside in locations that are dry in winter or lift and store in a cool, dry location indoors like everyone else does.
