Musa 'Lacatan' is a favoured banana for its sweet taste, aroma and firm texture when ripe. Shorter and fast growing, this cultivar provides versatility in your garden, container and greenhouse with plant height from 5 to 9 feet. Cold hardy in coastal BC if planted in a protected spot and mulched. Foliage is broad and paddle-shaped. Flowers emerge as a large tapered cone from the centre of the banana stem and later form bunches of bananas.
