Description:
Zingiber mioga is a culinary ginger from Japan with lance-shaped, tropical-looking green foliage that are arranged alternately on strong stalks. This species is probably the hardiest of the true gingers and cultivated for its edible young shoots and delicate yellow flower buds that emerge from the base in late summer. The remainder of the plant is not edible. A beautiful ornamental as well in the shaded woodland garden. Hardy to zone 7b.
