Angelica sylvestris 'Vicar's Mead' adds drama, architecture, and vertical appeal to the sunny garden. This is a giant up to 8 feet tall with bold, ornamental, pinnate, red-purple leaves and ridged stems. The large umbrella-shaped umbels have purple flowers that lighten to pink and white as they mature. A robust biennial or a short-lived perennial that will reseed delightfully in the garden and provide a triking contrast to other green foliage plants in the mid to back of the border or wildlife garden. A magnet for pollinators and beneficials insects.
