Description:
Orostachys japonica is a zone 4 hardy succulent forming rosettes of many cylindrical, pointed, light green leaves. They can flush orange at the tips with stress, especially in winter. Plants form colonies. Each rosette is monocarpic meaning that it will only bloom once and then die but the younger rosettes will fill in the clump. The cone shaped flowering stems can rise to 12 inches high covered in small white flowers usually in the fall. Best grown where plants will experience the seasons. We do not know how it will behave as a houseplant.
