Musa acuminata Kokopo' is a cool short-season banana that grows quite quickly producing fruit much faster than other cultivars with only 5-6 weeks between bloom and harvest, perhaps a bit longer in cooler climates though this is one of the best fruiting bananas for gardeners with not a lot of heat. Bunches of fruit can weigh 30 pounds. Additionally, it has orange pulp high in vitamin A and carotene which can be eaten when ripe or used in cooking.
