Description:
Camassia leichtlinii 'Silk River' is a more compact version of the great camas with elegant spires to 18 inches high covered with masses of star-shaped creamy white to pure white flowers which open from lime green buds. This is a larger more stately species than C. quamash. Native from BC to southern California. Camassia grow in winter-wet soils that dry out in summer which means they will be tolerant of clay-heavy garden soils.
