Description:
Musa 'Double'/'Mahoi' is a sport of the popular, compact 'Dwarf Cavendish' and famous for its ability to produce two heads of fruit instead of just one! This cultivar is productive and the fruit is sweet and highly rated. Plants will grow to about 7-8 feet tall and make a great ornamental with dramatic paddle-shaped foliage and large, cone shaped inflorescences. Note that double heads occur on mature plants that are well fertilized and grown in lots of sun. A young plant flowering for the first time or a plant in sub-optimum conditions might produce a single head. Requires, moist well-drained soil with heat, sun and humidity. If kept indoors, the plant won't go dormant. Very pretty and fun to grow.
