Melinus nerviglumis 'Pink Crystal' is the tender ornamental ruby grass with airy pink to creamy seed heads and blue foliage.
Description:
A beautiful subtropical grass, Melinus nerviglumis 'Pink Crystal', commonly called ruby grass or pink bubble grass, is highly ornamental with erect, blue-green leaves forming a compact, clumping form when, by summer, airy pink to ruby-red plumes emerge covered in silky hairs. Their colour gradually fades to white as the season progresses. Foliage turns purple-red in the fall then brown like most ornamental grasses. Use in the front of the border, in containers and flower arrangements. Though not hardy, this grass offers great foliage and flower displays. You'll come to love it and need it just like purple fountain grass. It is also apparently possible to dig it up and protect it over the winter.
