Description:
Citrus (formerly Microcitrus) australasica, the Australian finger lime, is a lime relative from Australia and a top citrus for foodies. It grows as a small tree or a shrub with fragrant, white flowers followed by long cylindrical dark green to purple fruit that are filled with tiny vesicles that have been described as lime caviar. They can be sprinkled on desserts or Asian dishes for a burst of lime flavour or used to make marmalades. Requires lots of heat to flower and fruit, more than other Citrus, and more protection in winter. All of our citrus are grafted onto C-35 citrange, trifoliate orange, or other semi-dwarfing rootstock which confer good hardiness and production while reducing overall tree size. Photo: Wikipedia.
