Rubus idaeus 'Encore'

('productnameshort')

Rubus idaeus 'Encore' is an everbearing raspberry with large, firm, delicious red berries on nearly spineless canes.

Description:
Rubus idaeus 'Encore' is a high yielding, cold hardy everbearing raspberry with white blossoms in spring and large fruit of excellent quality and firmness with intense flavour. Fruiting canes are strong, nearly spineless, vigorous and can grow up to six feet tall. May require some support. Expect two crops per season on each biannual cane. Fruit ripens first on old wood and then again in late summer on the current year's canes. Requires organically rich, moist but well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Yield will be higher in full sun. Remove fruited canes after fruiting to encourage new canes. Enjoy fresh, frozen, canned, and baked. Attracts bees and wildlife. Possibly hardy to zone 3.
