Prunus persica ‘Frost’ is among the best peach cultivars for coastal BC as well as colder regions as it is more resistant to leaf curl and is hardy to zone 5. The fragrant, pink, self-fertile flowers also bloom later than other cultivars helping to avoid damage from late frosts. The tasty, juicy fruit are freestone. In cool summer regions like coastal BC, plant in hot sunny spots with excellent air circulation that will approximate, as closely as possible, the optimum conditions of the Okanagan.
