Ligularia japonica ‘Tractor Seat’ is a cold hardy goldenray with huge, heavily serrated and dissected leaves and yellow flowers.
Description:
Wow! It's not the most attractive name, 'Tractor Seat', and was obviously named by a straight guy but this Ligularia japonica lives up to its name. It has massive deep green leaves spanning 16 inches across with serrated boldly dissected margins - just like a tractor seat! Golden yellow flowers bloom in midsummer with long petals for a striking contrast. This goldenray will reach 42 inches high with a 54 inch spread offering a huge presence in the garden, fantastic at the middle or back of the border or occupying a partly shaded corner with its dramatic architecture. Flowering will be diminished in deep shade. Pollinator attractor. Deer resistant.
