Description:
Prunus persica ‘Red Gold' is a beautiful nectarine that is self-fertile with a medium growth rate. Fragrant pink blossoms emerge in early spring followed by an abundant early September crop of very large, freestone fruits with waxy, reddish-yellow skin. The flesh is meltingly sweet and juicy. Use for eating fresh, baking and canning. A semi-dwarf tree with a rounded form typically to 12-15 feet tall. Green foliage turns deep yellow for a great fall display. In cool summer regions like coastal BC, plant in hot sunny spots with excellent air circulation that will approximate, as closely as possible, the optimum conditions of the Okanagan.
