Description:
Kaempferia roscoeana is a showy peacock ginger from Myanmar and Thailand with oval leaves beautifully marked with patterns of silver and maroon. It has inch wide lavender flowers with white eyes. Grown as a ground cover in the tropics, it is a rare houseplant for all of us in Canada. It will most likely go dormant indoors for 2-3 months. Let it dry out and water only sparingly to keep soil off-dry until spring.
