Description:
Japanese irises offer the largest flowers of all iris groups with very interesting colour combinations and patterns. They prefer full sun and moist soil. Iris ensata Dinner Plate ‘Tum Tim Gros’ (the Thai name for their famous red rubies dessert) has large, 6 inch wide, lavender pink flowers accented with lavender veins and yellow flares at the base of the petals. Blooms from May to June. The foliage is green and lance-shaped. Thrives in damp borders and pond or stream edges. Deer resistant.
