Salvia greggii 'Lipstick', known as autumn sage, is a heat tolerant, sub-shrub with aromatic foliage and nectar-rich flowers. Dark purple stems bear lightly fragrant, continuously blooming, two-lipped red flowers with white throats. The growth habit is upright and bushy to 36 inches tall and wide. Prune to shape in early spring. Makes a super easy and appealing container plant for the patio and in the mixed sunny border for all summer colour. Plant in full sun in hot dry spots with well-drained soils. Hummingbird and pollinator magnet. Deer resistant.
