Description:
Allium roseum is a lovely small ornamental onion species with loose heads of pink buds opening to fragrant pale pink and white flowers on stems to 14-16 inches high. It offers a more relaxed and delicate display than the giant spheres of its cousins perfect for a cottage garden or naturalistic planting. It is native from Portugal to the Middle East. Allium are popular with pollinators, especially bees and butterflies. Considerable disagreement exists on the internet about its zone hardiness.
