Gladiolus ecklonii Stutterheim (Adult 2023)

('productnameshort')

Gladiolus ecklonii is from eastern South Africa with unique white tepals liberally spotted with pink, red or purple.

Description:
Gladiolus ecklonii is a widespread species from eastern South Africa that is rare in horticulture with unique white tepals liberally spotted with pink, red or purple that arise in spikes from a fan of bright green, sword-like leaves. Provide even moisture when in growth. Very little hardiness information is available. The species grows as high elevations so we are guessing at zone 8, but it could be hardier. Our nursery-grown bulbs are adult blooming size as of 2023. Photo: Wikimedia.
