Description:
Actaea (Cimicifuga) ‘Pink Spike’ has the gorgeous deep burgundy leaves that you’ve come to expect from the Atropurpurea cultivars of bugbane but this one is said to have pale pink rather than white spires of fragrant flowers in late summer and fall. After many years we still can't see the pink. However, the foliage offers a warm purple as opposed to the cool purples of 'Hillside Black Beauty' and 'Brunette'. The difference is subtle but I like it in my garden so we have it at Phoenix. Evenly moist soil.
