Description:
Callirhoe involucrata produces luscious, glowing, magenta flowers with white centres. It is an extremely showy native to the midwestern US. Superficially you might think it’s a hardy geranium but despite the similar deeply cut leaves, closer inspection of the flowers will reveal that it is a mallow. Wine cups has a sprawling nature with ground-hugging stems. It looks best spilling over a wall or weaving through other perennials. Infertile and well-drained soil is best in full sun.
