Description:
From robust creeping rhizomes rise strong dark red arching stems of alternating long elliptic leaves, terminating in a panicle of white flowers in May to June, followed by fleshy red fruits which turn purple with age. Requires partial shade and moist well-drained soil. An outstanding and dramatic large perennial species. Also available: S. fusca and S. pallida.
