Description:
Hardly is there a flower that evokes a sense of the tropical more than the passion flower. Passiflora quadrangularis is a spectacular species with large red, purple, and white flowers with thick, substantial petals and a scent of cinnamon and nutmeg. Widely cultivated for its fruit which, while said to be not as tasty as the best passionfruit, can grow to one foot in diameter hence the common name giant granadilla! This species is cold sensitive and is best kept above 10 degrees Celsius at all times.
