Buddleia 'Asian Moon' a sterile cultivar that will not reseed with light purple flowers with orange throats over an extended period.
Description:
While a new butterfly bush might initially alarm gardeners concerned with potentially invasive plants, Buddleia 'Asian Moon' from Dr. Jon Lindstrom at the University of Arkansas is sterile! Its inability to produce seed means this cultivar cannot complete its reproductive cycle by producing seeds and thus blooms over an extended flowering season as the plant continues (futilely) to try to produce seeds. The flowers are light purple with orange throats. The foliage is light green with silvery undersides.
