Monarda 'Jacob Cline' has shaggy heads of red, tubular flowers and fragrant foliage. Hummingbirds will flock to this plant.
Description:
‘Jacob Cline’ is similar to ‘Gardenview Scarlet’ with very large, bright red florets in tight clusters atop stocky, three to four foot tall, square stems from midsummer to fall. This variety is one of the most mildew resistant. Monarda didyma is native to eastern North America, is easy to grow and multiplies quickly. The flowers' sweet nectar attracts scores of hummingbirds, butterflies and bees to the garden. The aromatic foliage smells like mint when crushed and is often used to flavour teas.
