'Soryu' is a an easy-to-grow lavender-blue flowered hardy Bletilla orchid.


Description:
This blue flowered Bletilla striata is an easy terrestrial orchid native to China and Japan. Found in Wakayama prefecture in Japan many years ago it has only recently become available. 'Soryu' means 'Blue Dragon' referring to the lavender-blue colour of the delicate orchid lowers. Propagated from seed but rhizomes have been bloomed and colours confirmed. The leaves are arching, broad and grass-like. This easy terrestrial orchid is native to China and Japan. Best in part shade in evenly moist, well-drained soil.
