Bold burgundy foliage and exceptional late summer fragrance on shorter plants.
Description:
This shorter cultivar of the popular bugbane has the same rich burgundy-black foliage, pink-tinged buds opening to white flowers, sweet fragrance and late summer bloom period of the larger cultivars but will only reach about four feet. Though tolerant of a full range of light conditions, Actaea (formerly Cimicifuga) are a great way to add fragrance to the shadier garden. Combine with variegated or golden foliage.
