Hydrangea quercifolia 'Pee Wee' is a dwarf oakleaf hydrangea with white flower panicles that age to pink and beautiful fall foliage colour.
Description:
Oakleaf hydrangea is a slow growing shrub of great beauty and one of the few hydrangeas not native to Asia in this case hailing from the southeastern US. 'Pee Wee' is a dwarf selection of smaller stature and with smaller leaves and flower panicles also noted for its bronze, maroon and purple fall colour. The cone-shaped panicles of white florets are produced in late spring and grace the plants all summer as they age to pink. Oakleaf hydrangea have great, long-lasting fall colour and are drought tolerant.

Native Habitat: Mixed hardwood forests, along streams and on forested hillsides, usually on calcareous soils, and often where limestone is at the ground surface. An understorey shrub, often in the shade of large oaks, hickories, magnolias, and American beech.
