Intriguing red flowers with large light green leaves.
Description:
The Hartlage Wine allspice is a dense, rounded deciduous small shrub with intriguing camellia-like flowers four inches across. The flowers look like two flowers in one with a cup of red-pink outer tepals holding a smaller cup of pink-white inner tepals. This inner cup contains a mounded ring of yellow stamens. The large oval, light-green leaves make this an interesting foliage shrub when not in bloom.
