Podophyllum pleianthum boasts large, vigorous, lobed, star-shaped, umbrellas of foliage that shine in the shade garden with a glossy lustre in dramatic clumps up to two or more feet high and two feet wide. The flowers are red with narrow, curved petals that produce red-orange fruits. A clumping rather than spreading species. Moist organic soils and good shade.
