Achlys triphylla is a hardy three-leaved groundcover noted for the vanilla scent of the dried leaves and fragrant, creamy white, pipe-cleaner shaped flower spikes which are attractive to butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. They like soil rich in humus and are found in forest/woodland locations and along the edges.
