Citrumelo (xCitroncirus) is a cross between a grapefruit and the very hardy trifoliate orange (Poncirus trifoliata). The fruit is large and rounded to teardrop-shaped and deep yellow in colour. It tastes like a cross between a lemon and a grapefruit. It is quite hardy for a citrus down to zone 7b and can be grown outdoors year-round on the west coast. In other regions bring indoors as a houseplant in winter and watch for spider mite and scale.
