Ophiopogon 'Black Beard' is taller growing than 'Nigrescens' to one foot high forming fuller, more vigorous clumps.

Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Black Beard' is said to be a taller growing black mondo grass reaching one foot high and forming fuller, more vigorous clumps. It will gradually develop into a drift of jet black, evergreen foliage. Pale lavender flowers appear in summer followed by deep purple-black berries. Unendingly useful for plant combinations, especially with gold and lime green foliage, in pots, along pathways or in garden beds. Plant from full sun to shade.
