Description:
Phyllostachys parvifolia is a relatively new species in cultivation hoped to be a good option for a timber bamboo in colder climates. The new culms, which are edible, are dark green with a bright white ring under each node. The culm sheaths are light brown. The culms can but up to 3.25 inches in diametre if not more with good moisture and up to 40+ feet tall! Should tolerate heavy and wet soils. This is a running bamboo.
