Tulipa-Historic 'The Lizard'

('productnameshort')

Tulipa 'The Lizard' is a Broken tulip introduced in 1903, richly coloured with deep lilac and rose on yellow and white.

Description:
Tulipa 'The Lizard' is a true Broken tulip introduced in 1903 and preserved at the Hortus Bulborum. Richly coloured with feathers, flames or marbles of deep lilac and rose on a background of yellow and white, every flower will be different. Their patterning will be recognizable to those familiar with Dutch still life paintings. It is part of the historical group Bijbloemens. Large hybrid tulips can be maintained in the garden if given a sunny location with rich soil and slow release fertilizer when in growth. Hybrid tulips can persist in the garden for many years. Afterall, they rebloom each year in the fields of the Netherlands. Provide full sun where bulbs aren't shaded by other plants, fertilize with bulb food as soon as they emerge in spring, and allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering.
